Thunderstorms in Houston

It was raining heavily earlier this morning, and I woke up a 5 AM to lightning and thunder. Then I went to my sister's room, where the rain was so deafening it was like standing in the middle of a car wash. The rain didn't let up, so I couldn't fall back asleep. I had to go downstairs at 6 to eat breakfast. Right now, everything has cleared up and it is sunny outside.

Cooler Temperatures!

After a long and brutal summer, Houston finally got a cool-down. It reached into the lower sixties this morning (high 90, low 63 according to the Houston Chronicle). This a really cool compared to temperatures surpassing one hundred degrees we've had this summer. We broke many records, including a drought record. Although we missed a good chance of rain a couple days ago, the low temperatures definitely made up for it. In fact, Houston is forcasted to continue its trend this week.
